Lauren brings a practical and reasonable approach to family law matters. With experience litigating and mediating, she advocates for her clients’ best interests finding creative solutions to address each client’s particular needs. She understands that each family’s circumstances are unique and require patient and compassionate counsel.

Lauren’s practice has been devoted exclusively to family law from the inception of her legal career and she has over a decade of experience handling highly complex and contested matters. She appears regularly before the Family Part in Mercer County, Burlington County, Hunterdon County, Middlesex County, Monmouth County, and Somerset County. Lauren also has experience handling family law issues at the appellate level. Lauren co-authored the brief in  R.R. v. R.N., 2014 WL 7343489 (App. Div. 2014), as well as in the published decision of K.A.F. v. D.L.M., 437 N.J. Super. 123 (App. Div. 2014), which addressed the custody rights of step-parents as “psychological parents.”

Practice Area Highlight:Prenuptial Agreements

A prenuptial agreement is a way to protect each person’s individual property and are often helpful in preventing protracted litigation in the event of a divorce. These agreements can address many aspects, including alimony and the division of assets.  Lauren is experienced at drafting and negotiating the terms of prenuptial agreements. She uses her experience litigating complex and highly contested family law matters to counsel clients on issues that should be addressed in an agreement as well as how best to protect each client’s interests. She will explain how issues addressed in a prenuptial agreement are interrelated and the potential effect the terms will have in the future. She also highly knowledgeable about the legal requirements that must be met in order to prevent a prenuptial agreement from being deemed unenforceable, such as ensuring full and fair financial disclosure of income, assets and debts, as well as executing the agreement well in advance of the parties wedding date.

Professional Background

Lauren is admitted to the bar in the State of New Jersey and the United States District Court of New Jersey, as well as the bar in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. 

Lauren regularly serves as a panelist for the Mercer County Matrimonial Early Settlement Program. The Matrimonial Early Settlement Program is used by the courts to help divorcing couples reach an agreement on the economic terms of their divorce instead of going to trial. Panelists are selected by the Presiding Judge of the Family Part in each county and make recommendations to litigants on how equitable distribution, child support, alimony, and counsel fees should be resolved after reviewing the facts presented in each case. Panelists must be experienced matrimonial attorneys. Lauren has also completed a 40-hour mediation training through the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education. 

Lauren is the co-founder of the Women’s Divorce Alliance which aims to engage, educate and empower women going through divorce and assist them to better navigate the process. The Women’s Divorce Alliance also helps connect women to skilled female professionals who may be needed throughout the divorce process such as therapists and accountants.

Lauren has lectured at the New Jersey State Bar Association Annual Convention on family law issues and co-authored several articles for the New Jersey Family Lawyer, which is a publication of the New Jersey State Bar Association.

She graduated from the Thomas R. Kline School of Law at Drexel University in 2009 and graduated magna cum laude from Rowan University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and Justice and Psychology.  

After graduating from law school, Lauren worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Joseph P. Testa, J.S.C. (Ret.) in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division, Family Part.

Lauren joined Ulrichsen Rosen and Freed LLC in 2019 after practicing family law at Fox Rothschild LLP for many years.

Personal Background

Lauren resides in Mercer County, New Jersey with her husband and two children. Her outside interests involve spending time with her family and friends, running, the arts, photography and travel.
